The 2013 Runholder Pinot Noir was sourced exclusively from the Home and McLeod Vineyards on the Martinborough Terrace. The selected grapes received regular hand punch-downs for full extraction without sacrificing elegance. After pressing, the wines are matured in French oak barriques for 10 months (28% new oak), before being bottled.
Medium-bodied, medium tannic, with cherry jam, cranberry, currant notes and a spicy hint of oak, the Te Kairanga Runholder have a solid structure but still light and easy to drink. Can survive for longer than 2 years from the date of purchase but opened just a couple of days.
